Intensive Reformer (IR) – Full Course / 4 weekends
Sept 21 – 23, Oct 5 – 7, Oct 20, 21 and  Nov 3, 4
Fridays 2 – 7:30pm, Saturdays 12 -6pm, Sundays 10am – 4pm
The third and fourth weekends meet Saturday and Sunday only.
Early Registration by Septemeber 7: $1600.
Final Registration by September 14: $1800

Reformer Course Modules Now Available!
We now offer Intensive Reformer in two modules – IR1 & IR2. Key learnings are the same as in the full course. The course is simply separated into two modules in order to make achieving your certification easier on your schedule and your wallet!

Reformer Module 1 (IR1) at Balance Pilates
Sept 21 – 23, Oct 5 – 7
Fridays 2 – 7:30pm, Saturdays 12 – 6pm, Sundays 10am – 4pm
Final Registration by Sept 14: $1140

Reformer Module 2 (IR2) at Balance Pilates
Oct 20, 21 and Nov 3, 4
Saturdays 12 – 6pm, Sundays 10am – 4pm
Final Registration by Oct 5: $760

Please Note: Completion of both modules is required to be eligible for certification. Both modules must be taken within 6 months of each other.

Refund Policy: Tuition is nonrefundable and nontransferable after September 7 for the Full Course and Module 1 and after Oct 5  for Module 2.

Course Description

This course teaches you how to design and instruct Essential and Intermediate Reformer workouts in personal or group training settings for a range of clients. In addition to the general course objectives, you will learn:

  • Effective use of the reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination
  • How to develop programs for personal and group classes
  • Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts
  • Effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation
  • Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
  • Theory and practice of postural analysis
  • Exercise layering related to effective program design
  • 122 exercises plus multiple modifications

Duration

  • 50 hours of instruction & supervised teaching conducted over 4 weekends
  • plus a minimum 10 hours observation, 40 hours physical review, and 25 hours practice teaching to be completed outside of class
  • Total: 125 hours
