Diana Boswell
Certified personal trainer
Diana Boswell is a certified personal trainer and STOTT PILATES trained instructor and has taught at the Balance Pilates Training Center for more than four years. Diana was born and raised in New York City and at an early age was encouraged by her mother, a professionally trained dancer, to study dance and theater arts. She was also introduced to the Pilates method and studied the classical and later the newer form. Diana has personally experienced the enormous effects pilates has had on her own strength and stability. The emphasis on alignment and core strength is an essential element in a fitness regimen, not only for athletes and dancers, but for anyone who wants to develop and maintain a strong body, health and balance. Diana is passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping people of all ages and fitness levels.
Diana attended Goucher College in Baltimore. Though she majored in education, she continued to study dance, was active in college sports, and was on the swim team. Later, Diana taught classes for Special Needs children in the Baltimore public school system. She moved to Washington D.C, where she received certification in fitness instruction. She worked at the Washington Sports Club, taught fitness classes to children at the YMCA, worked with patients at the Reston Spinal Clinic, and volunteered many hours at the Georgetown hospital physical therapy clinic. Diana has run in four marathons and for many charity events. Diana lives with her husband and their three young children in Midlothian.
Maria Brent
Certified STOTT PILATES Instructor

Maria Enochs graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Communications. While in college, she was first introduced to pilates and began practicing it regularly. After college, Maria moved to New York City to pursue a career in Real Estate. She then returned to Richmond a few years later and after searching for a new place to continue taking pilates, she found herself at Balance. She began taking classes at Balance, working on the Reformer, Cadillac, and Chair. Pilates offered her a way to become strong and build muscle without aggravating a pre-existing hip issue. Her interest in how pilates can help improve flexibility, help prevent joint injuries and the overall positive effects it has on the body, encouraged her to move forward with the certification process. After completing the STOTT PILATES reformer, mat and advanced mat training courses, she joined the Balance Pilates family and began teaching regularly.
Jaclyn Forrester
Certified personal trainer

I’ve been in the health and wellness industry for 8 years. After a couple years of personal training and teaching group classes, I found that strength and functional training was not well rounded enough to help everyone with their fitness goals. The mind body approach could be more helpful for some. Richmond, VA is fortunate enough to have a STOTT Pilates training facility at Balance Pilates. I trained there and at local yoga studios. I’ve found that having the ability to give clients weight training programs, balance and stability training, pushing people with plyometrics training, using yoga postures to lengthen muscles, toning the core safely with pilates, even working on the pilates reformer has been an amazing success for my clients. I’m able customize workout programs and keep them excited by introducing new exercises.
There are so many rewarding aspects of being a trainer. I love teaching a client correct form and then looking over one day and they are correcting themselves, watching others and noticing differences. It’s great to meet a client on a Monday morning and have them tell you they enjoyed their roasted vegetables and red wine with family or friends. Of course the best is having a woman walk up and show you that she had to move her belt two notches down just so she could wear the same pants or a guy come out of the locker room and all the sudden his chest is too tight for his shirt. Seeing the happiness in their eyes is amazing.
Heather Mazeika
Certified STOTT PILATES Instructor

Heather Mazeika graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1997 with a degree in Design. She went on to work as a graphic designer, first in Philadelphia, then Richmond, until 2008, and the birth of her son.
Heather’s completed 2 marathons and 6 half marathons, as well as 20 triathlons. She’s had a passion for fitness since her first Monument Ave 10K in 2001, and it just snowballed from there! After years of exercises and event specific training, Heather was diagnosed with two tears in her shoulder that could only be fixed with surgery. Because surgery was not an option at the time, she decided to look for alternative ways to build strength and gain back mobility. That’s when she discovered pilates. In the years she’s been doing pilates she’s regained significant strength and mobility. It’s not perfect, but it is oh, so much better. Pilates has helped her get stronger and become even more aware of her body and it’s movements helping her avoid injury – during both mommy activities and sporting activities.
Because of her passion for pilates and fitness, Heather decided to change careers. She began her formal pilates education through STOTT PILATES at Balance Pilates Training Center in 2010. She wanted to do something that allowed her to share her knowledge and love of fitness and help others correct imbalances and practice proper form, so they too can prevent further injury.
Heather’s outside life is consumed by her 3-year old son, husband, 2 cats and 1 dog. When she can, she enjoys trips to the Smith Mountain Lake and the Ocean City, NJ, and enjoying a drink with her friends.
