Refund Policy

All course,  workshop, and exams fees are non-refundable and non-transferable once the final registration deadline has passed.

Waiting List Policy:   Payment is required to reserve your place on a waiting list, but will be refunded if you do not get into the course or workshop.

Absenteeism

If a student must miss class, they are required to make up that time with an Instructor Trainer privately.   There is an additional fee for make-up hours.

If a student misses more than 5 hours, they must make up the same number of hours missed.  If a student misses less than five hours of a course, they need to make up half the time in private review (1 hour for every 2 hours missed).

Make-up hours should be done in a timely manner especially if the missed hours occur in the middle of a course.

Any make-up hours for ISP courses and Advanced courses are done on a 1:1 ratio due to the density of the course material, and the expectation that it will take the same amount of time to teach one student as to teach a group.

Students have six months to make up any hours missed.  If they exceed this timeline, the course is forfeited and the entire course must be retaken in order to examine and certify.

The student’s  letter of completion for the course will be with held until all hours are made up.

Certification and Examinations

STOTT PILATES® certification shows clients and employers that you are a well-qualified professional.  At the conclusion of each course, you receive a letter of completion as well as continuing education credits for the course.   STOTT PILATES® certification is awarded upon successful completion of a course plus a written and practical exam.  Exam material is cumulative so students can certify in stages by taking an exam after each course or the student can wait and take one exam after a series of courses.

Exams may be taken within six months of the completion of your last STOTT PILATES® certification course.   This is to encourage students to take some time following the course to practice and fully synthesize the information before taking their exam.

Exam weekends at Balance Pilates Training Center are scheduled 3-4 times a year.  The written exam is on Friday from 3-5pm.  Practical exams are by appointment from 9-5 on Saturday and Sunday. You may be asked to be a body for another student’s exam on the same weekend.  You will be notified of your exact practical exam schedule and exam body assignment  via email two weeks before the exam weekend.

The registration deadline is 6 weeks prior to the exam weekend.  After this deadline, exam fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.   To register for an exam weekend, please contact the coordinator at certification@balance-pilates.com or 804.340.1203.
